Last week the government advised that face coverings should be worn on public transport from 15 June 2020.
OCC has been seeking clarification as to what this means for students travelling on the school bus service. At this stage, they have advised they are expecting guidance to confirm there will be no expectation that a face covering be worn by students travelling on contracted home to school transport routes. As such, Drivers and passengers are to be encouraged to source their own supply if they choose to wear face coverings themselves, but transport providers will not refuse travel for a student who is not wearing a face covering.
Students who use the public transport bus network will be required to follow government guidance and use a face covering when travelling.
