Primary pupilsWe are getting increasingly close to occupation of our new teaching block at the front of the school. As I’ve written many times, it is a really exciting development for the school and we are planning every aspect of it carefully. We have now reached the point where we are considering the name of the new block and the Governing Body are keen to hear suggestions from all members of the school community. In order to do so we have set up an email address - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (the name does what it says on the tin!) – and would very much welcome contributions. It won’t go to a vote but the Governing Body would like every member of the school community to have had the opportunity to contribute if they would like to – we have set a deadline of Friday 1st July for responses and look forward to seeing what comes in.

An aspect of the school which is new this year, and is important, is the role of Services Champion. This role looks out for the interests of, and provides support for, students from services families and it has already demonstrated its effectiveness. It also encompasses providing support and guidance for students who might be considering a career in the military and Mr Lyons, our Services Champion, is very happy to discuss this support and opportunities through the school with families. His email address for questions or inquiries about any aspect of this provision is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Finally, the public examinations end today and our Year 11 and Year 13 students now have a well-deserved rest. Very well done to them all and thank you to all of our staff for their support for them over recent weeks and in particular our excellent exams team and invigilators for their care and professionalism in supporting our young people.
