Silhouettes of soldiers on the bridge of the new buildingAs ever, it has been a busy week in school with trips and visits, fixtures and clubs, practices and rehearsals and whole lot more going on. Lessons are focused, purposeful and frequently inspirational and students brilliant in their conduct and approach to school.

As parents and carers are aware, we have also had a two day Ofsted Inspection on Tuesday and Wednesday. The outcome of the inspection will not be available for several weeks but I would like to congratulate all of our students on their approach over the two days – it was in no way different to normal and they were typically excellent and positive in everything they did. I was very proud to be their Headteacher and look forward to sharing the report with families when it is published.

I would also like to thank students and staff with their patience and understanding as we continue to address the power supply issue in the new teaching block. The block is almost ready to be back in full operation and we very much look forward to that happening.

Finally, we mark Remembrance Day in school today with activities in tutortime, two minutes’ silence and the playing of the last post. This is important and a significant shared moment for the school. Please also keep a look out for our new House Rewards postcards which have been designed by students – they are simply great and may well be coming through postboxes soon.
