Students creating a model wind turbineWe have the opportunity each year to take our service pupils from Years 9 and 10 to a session on higher education. This year had a particular focus on STEM. There was a workshop in the morning where students got very competitive building their own wind turbines to see who could generate the most power from their design.

They then had an informative session from Bucks University on the different types of courses available at higher education, how to apply, as well as how Service Pupils may be supported in the application process or through bursaries.

We finished off the day with a round robin of careers talks from adults from the RAF that work in STEM. Students asked loads of questions and were really engaged.

We cannot forget to mention the huge rocky road for lunch as well!!
