It’s cold and still dark but it’s been a very busy first full week back in school and there is a huge amount going on. I suppose we inevitably cast our minds back to this time last year and are thankful that we are in school and together as a school community – in short, it’s great to be in school.
I met with Mr. Lyons, Head of the House system, on Thursday morning and we talked through just some of the (mainly new) things which are going on in school over this term running up to the February half-term break.
They include:
- Relaunch of Debating Club for Years 7 and 8 culminating in the House Debating Competition
- National Storytelling Week
- Secret Cinema Club
- House Cross Country
- Ninja Warrior Competition
House assemblies are taking place in a couple of weeks’ time and we look forward to the defining spirit of participation and competition being kickstarted for 2022.
All of these are in addition to our programme of extra-curricular activities, trips and visits which are running over the next few weeks and which are diverse, engaging and the lifeblood of our school. I can’t possibly go into detail about them at the moment but we will document them as they happen – it is a very exciting term ahead.
