We're always so pleased when our Year 10s return from their week of work experience, especially when they come back with such positive stories - this year was no different!

RAF Benson provided a unique work experience programme for six Wallingford School students, making-up a group of 20 students across five local schools – what an amazing team to be a part of!
“This week we’re being joined by 20 teenagers who are taking part in work experience. Yesterday they had a general introduction to life in the Armed Forces, which included team building activities, a post-lunch circuit in the gym, and an insight into the emergency response of the RAF Fire and Rescue Service, all against the backdrop of helicopter training.
"For the next few days, they’ll be working alongside our personnel in various different areas including engineers, physical training instructors, survival equipment specialists and operations staff. We hope they have a fantastic week!”- @RAFBenson Facebook
Mr Lyons, Services Champion, had the pleasure of attending the Year 10 Work Experience presentations @RAFBenson on Friday:
“The presentations were a culmination of some hard work and (what appears to be!) a lot of fun had by the six students who attended the RAF Benson Base squadrons.I was really pleased to see the mixture of service children and non-service children keen to experience life in the RAF. The students showed a real confidence in delivering their presentations, as well as a deep understanding of operations, logistics, engineering, being part of the Met office, and they had the opportunity to fly in a helicopter - the highlight for them all! The Squadrons were inspired by our students (see their tweet), and I hope this has forged a closer link between our school and the base. Thank you RAF Benson for hosting Wallingford School students and a huge well done to the Year 10s for such a successful week.”

“It has been a pleasure to have Eve with us from Wallingford this week at our government relations firm. We developed a work experience programme for her where she was able to shadow teams working on issues as diverse as online safety, digital regulation, defence procurement and super - fast broadband roll out. She assisted us with client meeting preparations, reviewing our new business activities, undertaking research, and attending key events with politicians. Her positive spirit and inquisitive nature were a credit to her and her school.
