Dear Parents & Carers

Wallingford School is looking forward to welcoming your child in September 2024!

We are very much looking forward to getting to know our Rising Year 7 students ahead of their September 2024 start. We are already working with your child’s primary school to ensure that they have a positive and successful transition to Wallingford School, and this is the first communication to Parents and Carers with some key information and dates for your diary. You are receiving this information because Oxfordshire County Council have told us that you are the primary contact for a Rising Year 7 student. At this point we have no further contact information, so you are welcome to share this communication with other primary carers for your child.

May 2024

Next week you will be receiving an email from Admission+ (Applicaa) containing the login information for you to access your online student enrolment form.  Please log into the site and complete the application by Friday 24 May 2024. Please do check your spam mail if the email from Applicaa doesn’t arrive. If you experience any problems completing this, please call our Admissions Manager on 01491 829706 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. Please visit our school website to order school uniform www.wallingfordschool.com. School ties (compulsory) and blazers (optional) should be ordered via our school uniform shop. Please note that school ties will be given out to students on their first day. You will need to order a tie in advance. If a blazer is ordered, please be aware it cannot be returned or exchanged as each one is made to order.

Visits to Primary School in June

We really enjoy and value visiting our Year 6 students in their Primary Schools. The visits are undertaken by either Mr Marston, Headteacher, Mrs Lewis, Deputy Head or our Head of Year 7. Our aim is to visit all schools. It’s a chance for us to share information with our Rising Year 7 students and to answer any questions they may have.

Transition Visit Day, Thursday 4 July

We look forward to welcoming our Rising Rear 7s into school for the full day. All students who are joining Wallingford School in September are invited. Please note, OCC are unable to provide transport to school on this day. Further details of the day will be shared nearer the time. Students should be in school for 8.40am and the day will end at 3.00pm (usual finish time of 3.05pm).

Family Welcome Evening, Thursday 4 July 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm

Following the Transition Visit Day, we very much look forward to welcoming you and your child on the evening of Thursday 4 July.  During the evening there will be a short presentation from Mr Marston, Headteacher and our Head of Year 7. Members of the Senior Leadership Team and Pastoral Support Team will also be available to speak with.

Term begins, Wednesday 4 September 2024

The new school year starts! To assist in the transfer from Primary to Secondary School, Year 7 will be the only students in school on that day, along with our Year 12s in sixth form.  Students do not need their PE kits on the first day; students will spend time in their new tutor groups and in timetabled lessons.

‘Meet the Tutor Evening’ – an opportunity for you to meet your child’s tutor and learn more about the year ahead.
