Glider in front of purple cloudsWe saw a first in school this week with an opportunity for a group of students who are interested in careers in the military to go gliding. It was a great experience for all and – I am told - certainly not something for the faint-hearted!

As with so many opportunities for our students, a huge thankyou must go to the Merchant Taylors’ Company for their support for this activity – the value our relationship with MTC adds to our school is considerable and it is something we greatly appreciate with opportunities ranging from the Livery Academy Awards and Enterprise Competition for Year 12 to the Merry Wanderers’ performance for all of Year 7, and including connections which have led to visits to the Slade School of Art and the London College of Fashion. All of these activities enrich and devlelop our young people and provide experiences which they will always remember.

In House events this week, inter-house football matches have rolled on at lunchtime with their characteristic enthusiasm and sense of competition. We also look forward to another first next week, with our inaugural House Golf Competition which is already generating a great deal of excitement.

It is the penultimate week of public examinations and our Year 11 and 13 students continue to work incredibly hard and impress us in everything they do. They deserve every success when they receive their results in August.
