Students singing on the school stageYesterday was Founder’s Day and the evening event is one of the highlights of our school calendar. It is an evening of celebration and a rite of passage for our Year 11 students. It is also an evening when so many people come together – students, staff, families, friends of the school – to reflect on what is special and distinctive about our school community and it is always a pleasure to be a part of. Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of the evening and in particular those who performed – they were great.

Another great evening this week was Tuesday’s An Evening of Stage & Film Music with a fantastic range and variety of performances from our younger students. Very well done to everyone involved – the future looks very bright with all the talent we have in Key Stage 3.

The arrival of a shed may seem an unusual thing to celebrate in school but this week we have been delighted to see the potting shed installed at the Pat Granados Biodiversity Area with the water supply to follow soon. Both additions mean that we will be able to use the area much more actively with students which is really exciting. As always, a huge thankyou to the Walter Bigg Foundation for its support for this project – and for everything else they do for us as a school.

And finally, today half of our Year 8 students are in Boulogne and with the Year 9 Residential next week the summer trips and visits season is now really kicking into gear.
