What does the number 6 mean to you? The wives of Henry VIII? Sixth sense?

In the Junior category, Corey Hayes Dix's (Year 8) came Runner-up in this section with his beguiling and powerful photograph of nature conquering concrete.

Anja Cooper's (Year 7) stunning photograph of a ballerina's feet working hard 'en pointe' is also a firm favourite. And the judges thought so too. That's why it came 'Highly Commended'!

Another Highly Commended photograph is Ella Sutory's (Year 8) striking study of waves crashing on rocks. I can feel the sea-spray on my face just looking at this photograph!

In the Senior Category, Tiarose Orton, (Year 11) won it for the school. She came, she saw, she conquered. Tiarose's stunning depiction of an outstretched hand epitomised this year's theme of 'Strength'. She did an absolutely top job of illustrating the power and gentleness that hands are capable of.

Ted Carrington-Rowlin's (Year 9) also came an impressive third in the Seniors category with an electrifying photograph of fireworks. Explosive stuff, my friends.

We also saw a lot of our talented photographers 'Highly Commended' in this category too. Sasha Jasinskaite's (Year 12)  calming and detailed photograph of dewdrops on a spider's web soothes the most furrowed of brows and Caleb Southam (Year 10) depicts 'strength' in a silent and majestic manner with his photograph of driftwood on a shore. Finally, in the Senior Category, Ezra McHugh (Year 12) gained 'Highly Commended' with her stealthy masterclass in street photography capturing an imaginative protest in Oxford City centre.

In the Staff category, our very own Mr Jackson came a well-deserved third. I say well-deserved third... but Mr Jackson is arguably the best photographer in the entire school. Look at his magnificent photo of Herdwick sheep in the Coppermines Valley and judge for yourself!

Also 'Highly Commended' in this category were Miss Absolom's powerful photograph of stones as memories and Miss Goatley's sensitive photograph of a pair of caring hands.
