Winter Newsletter 2025 cover of students standing before a Christmas treeIt's another treemendous Winter issue of the Wallingford School Newsletter, and this Christmas season is packed full of the arts.

There are trips to theatres, art galleries, museums and concerts. At the RSC, how did Measure for Measure measure up to the giddy heights of The BFG? At Waterside Theatre, it's winter but never Christmas in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. And lucky some of our students were when they met Star Wars concept artist and part-time stormtrooper Vincent Jenkins.

When our students aren't viewing art, they're busy creating it: read about the owl and the pussycat (and the duck), on display at the Oxford Museum; the Mayor of Wallingford's Christmas cards; paintings surrounding the Wallingford Christmas Tree; and a prize-winning bumblebee.

But there's also a chance to brush up on your deutsch, expand your knowledge of manga, and see if you know the difference between a clewline and a buntline - I don't have a clew. We finish with our regular round-up from the Heads of Houses - which house gets the egg nog, and which gets the lump of coal?

Merry Christmas!
