It was a pleasure to welcome next year’s Year 7 students to the school on Thursday for their transition day. From the moment they arrived at the gates they made a fantastic impression and it is already clear that they are going to be a great year group. The day was followed by the evening event with families where we talked about the logistics of the early weeks of Year 7 but also our school values and that “Able and Qualified” lies at the heart of everything we do as a school. These values were personified during the day by our Year 12 Peer Supporters and Year 10 Prefects who provided support for the younger ones and will continue to do so in September and beyond. We were very proud of them – and must thank them - and very much look forward to seeing what will be our new Year 7 cohort in September.

As ever, things are busy in school. In particular Year 9 have been on their residential visits this week and have clearly had an excellent time. Very well done to them all on their collective approach to a week which I’m sure will live long in their memories.

Next week is even busier in school with Year 12 Futures Week, Sports Day on Tuesday, the rescheduled Founder’s Day on Thursday and a whole lot more going on. They are highlights of the school calendar and we look forward to them all.
