It's summer, if you hadn't already noticed, so get in the shade and relax in the electronic cool of our final newsletter this academic year.
We warm-up with a bit of dancing, then glide on over to meet the new student leaders, who are already making plans for their forthcoming tenure.
Mr Dodson reflects on those sporting students proudly wearing the school colours as they represent us in competitions, and the sense of belonging and connection it brings them. For some, it can even lead on to them representing their country - read his article to learn about a couple of alumni returning to share their success and how Wallingford helped lay the groundwork.
Don't dodge the article on House Dodgeball or you'll miss learning how "students threw themselves into every match" (aren't they only meant to throw the balls?). House Golf returns (though please don't try playing golf in your own house) and, for shrinking violets, plastic is on the menu and in the ovens for Technology Day.
We've had a trio of authors visiting Key Stage 3 students throughout the year, and the Blackstone Library invites students to grab their "Reading Passport" in time for the summer break. Year 9s worked for their Bronze DofE by pitching tents, with their eyes on the future goal of meeting the actual DofE in a considerably bigger tent at Buckingham Palace Gardens (which the Gold winners got to do this year).
For once, WSA finds fund-raising actually is a bit of a picnic, and invite you to join them to help reach their next goal.
Have a great summer!
