Wallingford School strives to ensure the development of gifted and talented pupils to their full potential. In addition to enhancing the delivery of the curriculum for pupils on our gifted and talented register, we also ensure that they take full advantage of extra curricular activities provided both in school and by external organisations.
The school uses the national definitions of ‘gifted’ and ‘talented’ pupils. ‘Gifted’ refers to the top 5–10% of pupils in a school deemed to be academically able. ‘Talented’ refers to the top 5–10% of pupils in a school deemed to be able in the fields of Art, Music, Drama and Sport. Once students have been identified, the School involves itself fully in their application for NAGTY and offers whatever support it can to those who are applying.
